New Carpet and Fresh Paint

Well the new carpet is in and all I can say is “Wow”. When Christy and I went in to Home Depot a few weeks back we both had completely different ideas about what we’d come away with. Christy went in determined to find new carpet as close to the original as possible, while I went in with the unrealistic notion that we’d find something completely new, something we both liked, and would somehow transform our place from humble abode to luxurious palace.

In the end, we came away with a much better version of the same carpet that has amazingly achieved both missions. While the color and pattern are the same, the quality of the carpet, thicker padding, and the lack of 10 years of wear and tear really make the place look great. Of course, we took the opportunity to repaint the ceilings and walls in most of the rooms while they were empty and overall our home has never looked better. Now we simply have to finish putting things back where they belong before we can truly say we’re done.
