No, Christy and I do not need an intervention for gambling on sports, but we do have $1,000 invested in a Red Sox World Championship. As part of our initiative to redecorate the Girl’s room we went to Jordan’s Furniture and purchased a new loft system for their room. While the total purchase was roughly $1,800 we stand to get $1,000 of that money back if the Boston Red Sox win the World Series, thanks to a new Jordan’s promotion running through mid-April. While it is true that I’m still suffering from “STED” (Spring Training Euphoric Delusions), I honestly believe that Jordan’s couldn’t have picked a better (for us) year to run this promotion. The pitching staff looks like it could be the best 5-man rotation in baseball and the lineup is loaded with power from leadoff to the 9-hole. Sure, the position of closer still has a big “Help Wanted” sign hanging on it, but I’m not concerned. As if I needed another incentive to watch this year.
