Point Two

Point two pounds! All I needed was a lousy 0.2 pounds to hit the 20 lbs milestone. If I had only known how close it would be I would have taken off my belt. Then again, maybe its best I didn’t. Anyway, I’ll have no excuses if I don’t hit 20 next week.

The first full week with the pedometer was a bit of an eye-opener. The first thing I noticed was that my typical day involves as few as 3,000 steps, 1.75 miles, and a mere 276 kcal’s burned. After that first day, I set a daily goal of 5,000 steps and 3,500 of aerobic steps. The pedometer itself became the only motivation I needed to push myself harder and harder each day. My numbers kept going up sharply, until a rainy day cut my evening walk short on day 4, but I rebounded with 7,250 and 9,000 steps the following two days. By the end of the week I amassed 36,883 total steps and 8,831 aerobic steps.
